Addy's Dr. Visit

Addy and I went to establish ourselves with our new family practice physician this morning. Of course, we chose a D.O. graduate from Des Moines University. Addy loved him....he was great with her. In the past, she has been terrified of the white coat and stethescope, but I think seeing her daddy in it often helps now. I was anxious to get her in to get her flu shot as soon as possible. She didn't even cry! And she is pretty proud of that and has told everyone we have come across today. She is becoming such a big girl! We go back mid October for her H1N1 vaccination and that should be it until her well baby in December. I just had to share how brave she was and how great she did with her shot! I love her to pieces!

Grandpa's Farm

Addy finally got the chance to go visit grandpa Jeff's farm this weekend. She now realizes that the baby cows and sheep are a bit different than she sees in her books. She was a bit scared at first, but if grandpa had her, she was ok. She even had a lick on the back of her arm. She enjoyed the visit and was excited the whole weekend. She couldn't wait to get back home to tell daddy what she saw! We couldn't escape the sun coming through the windows, so nevermind the glare. She can't wait for her next trip! Thanks grandpa!

Spencer Tiger Football

Can you believe that Chase is old enough to be padding up and hitting the football field? We had a great time on Saturday watching Chase play running back, wide receiver and defensive tackle. The kids all watched and idolized Chase....Addy couldn't wait to see him after the game; she couldn't sit close enough to him. She is crazy about her cousins! Go Chase.....still undefeated!

Hear Addy's Roar....

We found the perfect Halloween costume for Addy today. We thought why not be her favorite exhibit at the zoo, and her favorite animal sound? She will be a tiger....keep posted for pics of her in her costume and not the Old Navy model :)

Burdorf Update

Hey....its the Burdorf's. We are alive.....we are moved now and finally found our camera. I know it's not a great excuse why we haven't been blogging, but it will just have to work.
What's new with us? Adam is on outpatient clinic this month and we are all enjoying this rotation. He is up with us in the morning and actually beats Addy and I home sometimes (thank goodness he cooks:) I am getting used to seeing him more again, which won't be great come October. He will be in the Emergency Room and will be gone all the time!
As for me, I have been busy with work. My boot camps are filling up and seeing results. I love being in this enviroment; I enjoy going to work everyday and when I leave I look forward to going back. We are getting ready to run a "Fitness Laboratory" in which we invite volunteers in for a workout with a trainer for 3 weeks and see how they enjoy the club and an exercise routine. But more importantly, we measure some vitals (heart rates, blood pressures, body fats, etc.) and show them the impact of exercise on their health. We are expecting to get 60 volunteers, which means more time in the club for me! It will be different than my working 3 days a week, and now I will be there all the time. I keep telling myself it is short term and I can do anything for 3 weeks?!
Addy is great. She loves having more room than our dinky 2 bedroom apartment. She has been blessed with seeing family for the past 8 weeks straight. I keep thinking that if we ever are by ourselves for the weekend, she will be bored. She is doing very well with her big girl bed....she doesn't get out at all. In the morning, she talks in bed until we go get her. She has been eating like a horse lately. She must be growing....on the way to daycare today she ate 2 sausage links! I thought she had dumped them on the floor, but no evidence of that. She is slowly but surely getting better going to daycare.
