Good News...

There is no fracture! She is still not using it yet that much, but I am sure she will get over it soon. I keep trying to catch her off guard and get her to use it, but nothing yet. But hey, at least no fracture!

Addy's first orthopedic injury:(

Addy's first injury, and Dr. Hough is on vacation outside of the country. Isn't that our luck?
Addy fell at daycare at 6:15pm Tuesday night and I got there at 6:30pm and came in to her screaming at the top of her lungs! As a mommy, I know when it is a just "bumped my head" kinda cry and when "something is really wrong" kinda cry. Something was really wrong!
As we left in a hurry, mommy and Addy both crying, we called Dr. Daddy to get his diagnosis. I wanted to take her to the ER in Fremont, but Adam wanted to look at it first, and Fremont's ER is a little "iffy" so we traveled home. It was an awful ride....every bump or wrong move and she screamed. I cried all the way home.
When we got home, daddy inspected the arm and decided we should head to urgent care to at least get it xrayed. She didn't even want us to get her out of the car or move her at all. At urgent care, she was a big gurl! The resident couldn't see an obvious fracture, but she said with little bones a radiologist would have to read it to make sure there weren't any fractures. She left in the splint and sling you see in the pic.
When we got home, she didn't even move! We know something is wrong when she doesn't play instead of going to bed. This morning has been the same; she really isn't playing let alone using her arm at all! I keep thinking I will catch her using it like she forgets about it, but she hasn't. We are waiting to hear back from the radiologist before we know our next move.

Addy's New Obsession

So, the house is quiet and last you checked Addy was watching Dora in her room coloring. All is good, right? Not anymore! If there is no noise coming from Addy and it has been a couple minutes, look out! She has a new obsession of coloring herself! Two days in a row....we thought we got all the markers put away last night, but turns out we left out the black one. You will see from the pictures below, Addy used the black marker to put "mommy make-up eyes" on. She must have decided to use it as a lip liner too as you will see a bit on/around her lips. The other pics are her coloring herself. Daddy about lost it as he thought it resembled tatoos. We still have no idea how she got it on the back of her neck! Only Addy....

My little consoler....

So today at daycare, Addy was quite the helper. I called around 4 to see if she took a nap for them and to see if she has had a good day thus far. Tuesdays are Addy and mommy's Mondays and are always a tough drop off day for both of us after a long weekend together. When I called and asked how Addy was doing, they mentioned she has been a sweetie today. They said that there was a new little girl in the two room who's first day was rough and Addy had been by her side since she had gotten there and been consoling her. The teacher said she was rubbing her back and telling her it's ok while the little girl cried. Addy didn't leave her side all day:) How cute is that? I couldn't be more proud of a mommy tonight. You couldn't teach that....she just is a natural consoler. What a big gurl...

It's a......

Adam, Addy and I all packed up and headed to our 20 week check and ultrasound today. Not only was everything measuring right on with dates, etc, but we found out we are having a healthy baby girl! Addy hasn't stopped talking about her new baby sister and since we've been home, we've watched the DVD probably 3-4 times! We are trying on new names by how cute Addy says them. We have 2-3 names that we love, so we are asking Addy what she thinks. Stay tuned for more updates.

Snow Days...

For the past couple days, Addy and I have been at home to avoid the dangerous traveling conditions and wind chills. It has been great being at home with her; especially with all of her new Christmas presents! There is never a dull moment with her. She does something new everyday. The other night she said " I want apple juice instead of water momma." Adam and I looked at eachother and about lost it....did she just say instead? At daycare on Tuesday, the teacher was telling Addy, "see you tomorrow, hopefully with the weather you can still make it in to see us" and Addy replied " hopefully I can make it." She is 2 going on 12 I think!
Today officially marks the halfway point of our second pregnancy. It is great to know that we are half done and looking forward to having a new addition to our family. We have our ultrasound on Monday afternoon, so we will know if Addy will have a little brother or little sister. It is driving me crazy calling it an it. Addy and mommy think it may be a little sister, but daddy is still standing strong on thinking it is a little brother for Addy. We have a couple names picked out for both, so it will be fun to narrow those down in the next 139 days. The baby is moving like crazy, and I have missed that part of pregnancy....those nights you can lie still and feel little one dancing around. Adam has felt a couple movements, but is looking forward to more.
